Now Here We Go
Oak Cliff is a neighborhood just south of downtown Dallas - known for high crime, poverty, and generally being an armpit of the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex.
THIS is an example of how people need to be.
Take care of your home, then take care of your neighborhood. Don't be beggars to the various governments, just DO IT!!!
Congrats to Matt Christiansen, Patrick Hancock, and anyone else involved in this initiative.
Oh, and to the people involved... if you can't get the (understaffed and mostly useless) Dallas PD to show up when you report a crack house, try calling 911, and reporting that you've got a trespasser on property you own at gunpoint, and you'll kill him if he moves. I'm willing to bet the DPD will find a way to get an officer on the scene then.

Having been to your part of Tejas recently, I KNOW that there's a different culture there, but holding ANYONE at gunpoint ANYWHERE in these you-nighty-states gets you on a permanent list, and your house flagged in the dispatch computer.
There is safety, and time to react to bad gov't juju if you are anonymous, and therefore NOT in said computer with all sorts of gun-references next to your name.
When the S.H.T.F., we may or may not know of the start of gov't operations in time to react/bug out/prepare defensive perimeters.
One thing is for sure, though, that when that day comes, the FIRST people that the dot gov WILL come for are those who have gun-action flags next to their names.
Compared to the scenario in your latest post, George, being on a list might not be so bad.
Of course, it wouldn't surprise me if gov't is probably already databasing blogs, so we're already screwed.
