*taptap*

Is this thing still on?

Damn, there's a lot of dust and cobwebs around here... guess I should try to keep it up a little better.

There's a lot I'd like to say, but for the most important part of it, I'm not yet at liberty. Hopefully in about a week.

In the meantime, we're in the last stretch of campaigning for a pretty important election. I'm sure most everybody here knows this, but control of Congress is up for grabs. The Libtards are WAY too close for comfort to gaining control of the House and the Senate, something which would be catastrophic for our military and national security in general. Not to mention taxes and personal freedoms such as the RKBA.

Note that I said Libtards and not Democrats. There is a difference at a personal level, but when you get to national politics in Washington DC, they are one and the same. With Reid, Pelosi and company the Democrat leaders in Congress, any reasonable Democrat who doesn't toe the party line is going to get slaughtered, politically speaking.

And that party line is completely Libtarded.

Think you've got a pretty reasonable candidate for your District running on the Democrat ticket? Think again. Even somebody like Harold Ford Jr or James Webb, both of whom are individually tolerable as far as I know (they kinda remind me a little of Zell Miller) would have to dance to the tune of the likes of Pelosi, Reed, and Kos, or risk getting Leiberman'd.

BTW, I think it's gonna be funny as hell when, after being basically kicked out of the Democrat Party for not being "liberal enough", the guy with one of the most liberal voting records in the Senate kicks the crap outta the Democratic Primary winner, Lamont, next Tuesday.

I'm not going to vote straight-ticket, like Kim did, simply because of the abuses of emminent domain Gov. Perry has pushed for the Trans-Texas corridor. Land takings rank right up there with with gun takings as far as I'm concerned - the cases where it's justified are EXTREMELY few and far between, and if you want to convince me that any one in particular IS justified, bring a sack lunch - you're gonna be here a while. That's one of my hot buttons that Perry has smacked HARD, and we have decent non-democrat options in Texas this election cycle, one of whom will get my vote for Governor.

But for Congress? As much as I'd like to vote for any non-Republican, non-Demcratic candidate, to "send the Stupid Party a lesson", this is not the time. Bet your ass, however, that after holding my nose and voting to keep the Stupids in charge in Washington, I'll be looking VERY closely at voting records, and who's available to challenge Republican incumbents in the primaries in two years.

THAT's the time to go for a change.

In other news *glances around* Yep, I'm still here, and John "the unnatural offspring of Thurston Howell III and Lurch" Kerry is still an idiot. (I didn't make up that description, but forget who did. Wish I could take credit for it!) Here is a mention of it from a pretty good guy, and I LOVE that picture!

Oh yeah, and CA's class on AEC sucks. If you know what that means, you have my sympathy.
