Home from Boomershoot '09

Wow, what a trip that was. Just over 3900 miles round-trip; 3 days up, 3 days back.

Montana spring snow on the way there; Texas spring severe thunderstorms on the way home.

And more than worth every mile!

I'm just going to post a little bit tonight; still pretty tired from the road. More will follow over the next few days.

"Home Sweet Home" from Friday night until Monday morning - with Rivrdog, my camping and shooting buddy, who drove over from Oregon.

I saw a lot of these weird fence-type things in Wyoming - does anybody know what these are for?

And this pic was from last night - one of my favorite sights in the world when I've been traveling:

That sign usually means I've got less than 8 hours of driving before I'm home - yeah, Texas IS that big.

More stuff about Boomershoot itself, and the lots of great people I met there, to follow over the next few days. Lots more pictures, too.

April Freeze?!?!

This is Texas - we're not supposed to have hard freezes this late in the Sping.

Fortunately, I got all my tomato plants covered up, and they made it overnight.

Where the hell is Al Gore? I thought we were supposed to be getting warmer by now?

I'm just glad I'm running late on planting the garden, and tomatoes were the only things I'd planted - everything else I could move into the shop overnight.
